When we started working on the album "En plats i solen" (A Place in the Sun), we had the idea of counterpointing the uplifting title track "En plats i solen" with a brutal sounding song called "En plats på solen" (A Place on the Sun), envisioning a fiery inferno of solar storms and extreme heat.

The composition drew inspiration from "the Main Title Theme" of the 1984 Dune movie and Edward Grieg's "Asa's Death" (from the Peer Gynt Suite). We contacted jazz trombonist Peter Fredriksson and sent him a video of an orchestra performing the massive title track to "Game of Thrones", asking him if he could do low octave brass like that. "Sure!", he replied. The end result worked out beautifully! Vocalists Karolina Dahl and Ida Norrman enrich the tune with an ample timbre and we're droning out guitars to complete this fierce wall of sound. The weather is always good on the sun!
