about

Recorded and released 2007 by JKP at Bunkern, Gothenburg. Originally released as mp3 download.

Under construction: track 2 to you only availible via download through www.stalverk.se due to bandcamp track length constraints.

"In early 2007 we had an idea that was genius according to ourselves. We were posting music on Myspace and it was a good way to connect to listeners, but we could only have four songs and the sound quality was limited. So we thought, shouldn't our music be availible as albums and EPs with cover art and liner notes, like an actual release but online? It sounds obvious now but back then not many people were actually doing that. So we changed our website Stalverk.se to be a release platform for full MP3/art downloads and decided we should release something every month! Not just a song but a few songs that form some kind of context and some art/visual part.

ONe of the conditions that made us able to do this (at least for the first couple of years), was that Jon was actually making a track every day back then. So when he finally decided we should release some of it, we had lots of material to pull from, while the groups, Plankton, Tunic and so forth, were working on their EPs and albums. My job was to become some kind of editor and listen through all the tracks he made and say "This is finished", "This is the best track this week" etc.

Jons first solo release STAL-106 Jonperman 002312.013 was really promising and came out fullt formed but this follow-up is on an entirely different level. I can't pinpoint it, but I remember Jon sitting through the nights in the Bunker and getting increasingly weird sounds out of his Roland MC505 Groovebox, until this witches brew of post industrial sound sheets came out. I remember my friend J.M.K. saying "you hear new sounds every time you listen to it, even after the 20th time" and that is the kind of decication this music deserves.

The cover art is a blurred out photo of the mixing console in Cubase VST 5.0 which was our recording software back then. Old School!!"
